Last Updated: Monday 9TH March, 12:00

Visitors to the European Association of Airport and Seaport Police (EAASP) Conference are advised that there is no change to the plans to hold this year’s event and that the conference will run as scheduled from 15 – 17 March 2020 in London.

All attendees are informed that they must make themselves familiar with the current UK Government information and advice on the outbreak of coronavirus COVID-19: READ GOVERNMENT GUIDANCE. The Department of Health and Social Care will be publishing updated data on the same Government page every day at 2pm until further notice.

As per the guidance, attendees should note that anyone who has travelled to a Category 1 location, whether they have symptoms or not, should self-isolate at home (or at their temporary residence if they are not at home) and MUST NOT attend the EAASP Conference 2020 in any circumstances.

Anyone who has a relevant travel or contact history in Category 2 location (VIEW RELEVANT LOCATIONS) and is concerned that they might have symptoms also MUST NOT attend the EAASP Conference 2020 in any circumstances, and those in the UK should contact NHS telephone 111 for further advice and guidance.

Should you feel unwell during your visit to the EAASP Conference 2020 and are experiencing typical symptoms of coronavirus (e.g. a fever, a cough, a shortness of breath, breathing difficulties), you are advised to seek immediate advice.

We will continue to take regular advice from UK Government and the World Health Organisation (WHO) regarding any safety precautions related to COVID-19. The situation will continue to be monitored, with the relevant health and safety precautions being exercised where appropriate to ensure our commitment to exhibitor and visitor safety.

The Union Jack Club has appropriate measures in place including availability of hand sanitisers on arrival, registration, toilets, dining areas. Hygiene practices, such as regularly washing hands and always sneezing into a tissue are the best way to prevent the spread of almost all germs, including the novel coronavirus, COVID-19, and we ask all attendees to please make frequent use of the hand sanitisers available throughout the event.

The organisers discourage handshaking or other forms of physical greeting/contact at this time, and encourage alternative non-contact greetings. We ask that attendees are not offended if delegates decline to accept standard business greetings such as handshakes.

We will continue to monitor the situation on a daily basis and keep exhibitors and visitors informed of any changes where appropriate.

James Douglass

PRESIDENT
