James Douglass, OBE, IPM has been working for the UK police service for 45 years. He was in command of policing Heathrow Airport as Chief Superintendent before joining the Specialist Operations Department at New Scotland Yard. He then served as the UK Police Deputy National Coordinator Ports Policing during which he wrote many national policy documents and supported an Advanced NATO workshop on Maritime security. Covering both Aviation and Maritime protective security he is currently the Ports Protective Security Lead at the National Counter Terrorism Policing HQ in London. He is the author of the UK Police National Maritime Security Strategy and supported the introduction of the National Aviation Security Framework. He is President of the European Association of Airport & Seaport Police (EAASP) where he develops collaborative working arrangements with other European agencies. He supports the development of European and international policy & legislation. He was awarded the International Policing Medal in 2015 and the Order of the British Empire (OBE) in March 2020.

Richard is team leader Preparation & Operational Management at the Central Operations Division of the Netherlands Police. He is also the crisis and public order management advisor at the National Command and Control Staff.

Richard started his professional career as a mate in the Merchant Navy. His Police career started at the Water Police October, 5th 1992. In 1997 he became an aviation accident and incident investigator at the Aviation Police.

In 2000 he made a career switch to become a policy advisor Aviation at the Public Prosecutors Office. He developed and implemented an Expertise Centre on Aviation legislation.

In 2004 he became Head of the Aviation Police and in 2009 he went back to the Water Police as the national coordinator on Port Security which also involved the international portfolio i.e. ExCo member of AQUAPOL and ExCo member of the European Association of Airport & Seaport Police.

In 2012 he became Head of the Maritime Police and in 2015 he became Head of Information, Assistance & Operations at the National Operational Coordination Centre of the Ministry of Justice and Security.

In 2013 Richard completed his postgraduate study Master Public Management at the University of Twente and in 2016 he was awarded with the International Police and Public Safety 9/11 Medal for Maritime Security.

Since March 2018, he has served as Assistant Commissioner Specialist Operations of the Metropolitan Police Service, and the National Police Chiefs Council lead for counter terrorism policing. He became a police officer in 1992, and has spent his whole career serving with the Metropolitan Police.

In the 2016 Queen’s Birthday Honours, AC Basu was awarded the Queen’s Police Medal (QPM) for distinguished service.[/nrgevent_speaker_slider_item][/nrgevent_speaker_slider][/vc_column][/vc_row]

Jo Schoenmaker is pilot and aviation security expert.

Jo has a background in the Dutch National Police as officer and pilot of police and coastguard aircraft.

Since 1991 Jo is pilot, instructor and examiner on the Boeing 737NG at Transavia Airlines, a KLM subsidiary. He held several other positions, including safety trainer, safety officer, project manager, security advisor and security trainer. He developed training in the areas of security and Crew Resource Management (CRM).

Jo is in aviation security since 2005 as member and (vice) chair of the security committees of VNV-DALPA (Dutch Airline Pilots Association), ECA (European Cockpit Association) and IFALPA (International Federation of Airline Pilots Association). He participated in a very wide variety of international platforms such as ICAO (International Civil Aviation Organization), ECAC (European Civil Aviation Conference), EU and Eurocontrol and all national security platforms and working groups.[/nrgevent_speaker_slider_item][/nrgevent_speaker_slider][/vc_column][/vc_row]

Dyami’s founder Eric Schouten has a 13-year career working for the Dutch Security Service. Gaining a successful background in security threats and countermeasures.
As a liaison to the aviation security sector, he helped secure airport and airline operations. He was involved in establishing the Dutch national expert group for overflights of conflict zones and founded and participated in many other security-related working groups. Nigel specialises in the cyber security of transportation and critical national infrastructure. Having managed highly complex maritime security testing projects from drilling rigs, bulk carriers to cruise liners and private yachts as well and European Air and Sea ports.  Nigel is ideally placed to provide an insight into the threats facing a broad range of transportation and CNI stake holders.

He has presented to the House of Lords Select Committee on Maritime Cyber Security, as well as at events such as the International Security Expo, International Association of Drilling Contractors, and the European Associate of Airport and Seaport Police Conference in Lisbon, 2019[/nrgevent_speaker_slider_item][/nrgevent_speaker_slider][/vc_column][/vc_row]

David Trembaczowski-Ryder joined ACI EUROPE in February 2010 where he is responsible for all aviation security issues.  David has spent a whole career in operational aviation, defence and security.  In addition, he has significant experience in EU policy development.

David last appointment was with the UK Permanent Representation (UKREP) to the European Union as a senior military adviser on European Security and Defence Policy (ESDP). Prior to joining UKREP David was seconded to the EU Council General Secretariat (2003–2006) dealing with ESDP organisational structures and policy, as well as dealing with EU Third States policy issues (Russia, Ukraine, Turkey, Norway, Iceland, Croatia, FYROM and others).  Before coming to Brussels, David was the CEO/Station Commander of Gibraltar Aerodrome/RAF Gibraltar (2000-2003), where he was responsible for all aspects of the airfield operations, with significant security related challenges. He has also worked in several NATO and national appointments. He heads a team of 2 people, one supporting David in aviation security and the other working on cybersecurity.

David holds a BSc (Hons) in Economics, and is a graduate of the Royal Air Force Staff College and the European Security and Defence College.

Jeremy is head of CT, Aviation Security and training at Enspire Solution, working with a team of professional including architects, engineers, and designers. Conducting vulnerability analysis of crowded spaces and suggesting layers of physical mitigation to reduce risk associated with blast or ballistic attack. Enspire Solutions make their own solutions using their manufacturing company.

Jeremy also delivers firearms related training for a number of UK and overseas airports and is an accredited as a Recognition of Firearms and Explosives (RFX) course provider by the Department of Transport.

Jeremy was previously a police firearms instructor, and commander at a London airport and a tactical advisor specialising in command training and critical incident management.[/nrgevent_speaker_slider_item][/nrgevent_speaker_slider][/vc_column][/vc_row]

He is a cofounder of the European Network for Cyber Security (ENCS) and is now involved in several Startup companies. While he started his career on Byzantine Fault tolerance (i.e., Blockchains) and is still active there, his focus since 2010 is security of critical infrastructures, where he also has been active in several EU and US expert groups.

Amongst other things, this organization provides very useful ICS Scada trainings to people working in critical infrastructure companies and institutions, also in the Netherlands, with an interesting red teaming exercise at the end of the training. [/nrgevent_speaker_slider_item][/nrgevent_speaker_slider][/vc_column][/vc_row]

[vc_row full_width=”stretch_row_content_no_spaces”][vc_column][nrgevent_speaker_slider 1=””][nrgevent_speaker_slider_item name=”Dr. Richard Chisnall, C.Eng, MIET” category=”” social_links=”%5B%7B%22icon_fontawesome%22%3A%22fa%20fa-internet-explorer%22%2C%22link%22%3A%22https%3A%2F%2F%22%7D%5D” image=”329″]Dr Richard Chisnall is a Security Technology Specialist and Managing Director of InnovaSec Ltd in the UK. This business concentrates on protecting individuals and organisations from cyber-physical attacks on them and their operations throughout the Member States of the EU.  He is engaged in technical leadership, systems engineering especially the collection of user requirements and international dissemination and exploitation results from collaborative R&D programmes.  He is a specialist in technical solutions and tools for the protection of critical infrastructures, people and the Internet of Things.  He is a joint author of “How Port Security has to evolve to address the Cyber-Physical Security Threat”to be published in the ‘International Journal of Transport Development and Integration’, in March 2020.

He is a Chartered Engineer and a Fellow Commoner at Sidney Sussex College, Cambridge.  He has fulfilled a specialist rôle as Technical Advisor for EAASP since 2010.

Captain John L. David spent 21 years deep sea, which included 5 years as Master.

Whilst at sea, John served on oil tankers and bulk carriers of various sizes, plus an assortment of general cargo, container vessels, and one or two coasters. He has sailed to pretty much everywhere in the world, except for Cuba and New Zealand. As Master, he met pirates, first hand, on several occasions, but he was never formally introduced.

Since leaving the sea, Captain John has spent the last 25 years as a Marine Investigator and Consultant, including spending 9 years with a leading London maritime law firm.

For the last 17 years, John has been working for Marine Professionals, which specialises in Casualty Investigation and Marine Consultancy, advising mainly marine insurance clients, world-wide, and across a wide spectrum of marine-related matters, and problems.

Captain John has investigated and advised on a broad range of marine claims including H+M, Cargo, P+I, Ports + Terminals, Loss Of Hire, Salvage, Wreck Removal, and GA matters, some of which have also involved piracy, grounding, collision, structural failure, fire, personal accident, and often interviewing the crew.

Captain John is on the approved Lloyd’s Panel as a Special Casualty Representative (LOF – SCOPIC), and has attended several major salvage operations – often in the most inhospitable of places.
